Hives from Victoza
| Catherine
I've been on victoza for a month now and recently increased my dose to 1.8 as prescribed by my diabetic clinicians. I know have a bad case of hives on my tummy. They are pinky/red welts and very very itchy. I was also asked to decrease my dose of bedtime lantus from 65 units down to 58 units.
Will the hves go away on their own or do I require medical help.

I was fine taking .6 and 1.2 dosage, when I increased to 1.8 I started getting very large (3-4 inch) injection site hives. They would appear 24-48 hours after injection. I went back down to 1.2 and the reaction continued. should I stop ?

My hives were so bad I had to go to the ER four times (once by ambulance). I now carry an epi pen and no longer take the poison Victoza.
