Hi, My son has pandas. The problem is none of the antibiotics are working. If anything making it worse. Dr Trefliti put him on Valtrax. A Medcine used for coxsakie. We saw succes with the Medcine but after having strep again we put him on antibiotics and doing bad again. We left dr Trefliti due to being unreachable. Valtrex hair loss - will it grow back?
| pittle21
Will my hair grow back after Valtrex related hair loss? Since starting Valtrex last month my hair has thinned drastically, a lot of hair is falling out and I have bald patches and a reseeding hairline now. I've had my iron, b12, hormones and thyroid checked but they're all ok so I think its the valtrex. I have stopped the valtrex as the hair loss is too bad. I was hoping anyone whos experienced valtrex related hair loss might be able to tell me if the hair will stop falling out and grow back now after stopping valtrex and if so how long did it take? I really hope this isn't permanent.

I wanted to get allergy testing done, but indications were that there must be some form of antihistamine in my system. The only thing I can think of is that it might have been from the Valtrex. Does anyone know about this? I did take Valtrex for a cold sore.

Gained 7 lbs in 3 weeks on Valtrex
| Jen M
Been on Valtrex since Dec 26 for shingles. I have gained 7 lbs in 3 weeks!!! I normally eat clean and exercise daily. Of course the shingles were too painful to exercise until a few days ago. But that's alot of weight for me in such a short time.
