Speech affected by Tramadol.
| Ardulace
I find the most troubling side effect from Tramadol is my speech. It feels like something is freezing words in my throat so they don't come out fluidly. My speech sounds staccato and haulting, not quite stuttering but an inability to get the words out. I want to know if anyone else has experienced this.

I am a 55 yoa woman and have been on Tramadol for a 8 months. I do not have hot flashes anymore and no more mood swings either. I asked my doctor if there had ever been a study reflecting the positive effects this has on Menopausal symptoms? He had not. When I am off this drug for about a week, all Menopausal symptoms return. I will remain on Tramadol until my Menopausal cycle is over.

I've taken vicodin for 8 yrs which worked for a while. Then my pain became worse with 4 herniated discs and1 slipped. Depression/Anxiety,Fibromyalgia,sciatica and neuropathy, restless leg syndrome. Tramadol was prescribed to me to keep my chronic pain at bay. Haven't had very much success with this medication. Ive been taking Tramadol now for a little over a yr and a half, from my pain management Dr. He won't prescribed anything else because of the Fibromyalgia factor. He doesn't believe in prescribing opiates. But with my experience Tramadol Doesn't help much, I'm currently taking 200mg daily.

Ponstan helps in headache especially migraine but not neuropathy and central pain but Tramadol yes while giving very bad side effects....dry mouth, dry skin, rashes, acnes and stomach burning discomfort. Both induced ankle swelling.

Tramadol is weak and not addictive it is pretty much a placebo. I had no change in my pain. Goodies helped much better except the Caffeine in Goodies are more addictive.

Scott I dont know where you are getting your information from, but please be aware making such wrexkless claims. Tramadol is a highly addictive drug with extreme withdrawal symptoms that can last for over 3 weeks. It is an extremely strong synthetic opiate that is commonly and easily abused due to its relaxing and euphoric symptons. It has recently been changed to a controlled drug in the UK due to the problems it is causing people throughout the UK, Drs have been instructed to try and move their patients towards coming off Tramadol and on to alternative pain relief. I have worked in substance misuse for many years and I am qualified to speak on this matter both in a professional and personal experience capacity. If you want to check the validity of my statements simply type "tramadol addiction' in to Google and you will be presented with literally thousands of threads containing posts from people suffering serious problems battling with Tramadol addiction. The reason I feel compelled to reply to your comment is because it is both misleading, inaccurate and dangerous advice. I don't dispute that this may have been your experience, but your experience must be 1 in a million. Tramadol is highly addictive and dangerois drug and it is definitely not a placebo.

Tramadol and Asthma Attack
| LGR
I have several chronic illnesses. I was put on Tramadol for the pain but always had a suffocating heaviness in my chest like an asthma attack. I take Accolate, Albuterol inhaler, Flovent, and nebulizer every day. After being rushed to ER with a major asthma attack after taking the Tramadol for 3 days, I stopped taking the drug for my breathing to go back to normal. I do not have side effects with any other pain meds. Several years ago a pharmacist said to never take TRAMADOL with any type of COPD illness.
