Just started taking Olestyr and finding it hard to fit in the "take other medication one hour before Olestyr, and four to six hours after taking Olestyr." So, for maximum benefit, is it best to wait four hours or six hours - why the two hour difference? Also, my Pharmacist said not to take Olestyr for at least four hour after my morning Thyroid medication as it can cut the effect of Synthroid by 50 per cent. Thanks and looking forward to answers.

Back again. I had to stop taking the powdered Olestyr because of heartburn and very sort mouth, tongue etc. As one has to brush teeth really well after taking it, this was impossible with a sore mouth. I took it for five weeks, at 2 pkges a day for last 3 weeks, but had to stop. I don't think pills are available in Canada? I have trouble with this site as when I click on a comment I get pages of various comments and find it hard to find the one that is posted here... so perhaps a different site where I can get instant replies? Thanks
