Every time I am given profofol I have breathing problems afterward for a month, I also take clonazapam, the GI doctor says they don't interact . He swears that they don't, but they do for me. I just had a procedure and am so sort of breath.

Propofol as anesthesia for colonoscopy. Only had oxygen through a nasal cannula, not intubation.

Propofol and colonoscopy
| Brenda-Baton Rouge, LA
Went in for a routine colonoscopy, was given propofol...woke in recovery with severe sore throat, couldn't speak, body aches, chest congestion and coughing, severe headache. No one told me anything...they gave me Tylenol sent me home...got worse throughout the night, saw my Primary Care Physician, he took chest xray (which was clear?) however, I did have an upper respiratory infection...got a steroid shot, antibiotics and cough meds...unbelievable! 5 days later I'm sick...had to be the anesthesia...no one wants to explain! I will never take that drug again, however, nothing was documented in my chart of my symptoms...my trust level is zero!
