Headaches from Pravastatin
| firsttimepravastatinuser
I was taking Simvastatin several years ago, but I stopped taking it due to concerns of the side effects, although I never experienced any. Current doc prescribed very low dose of Pravastatin (10 mg) some months ago, (I made him aware of my concern) but I never took it. Went to see him yesterday and he kind of persuaded me to take this med. I am diabetic, and my LDL is just slightly over 100, but my HDL runs in the 120s, and pravastatin is supposed to help with some of the bad risks of diabetes. Well, I took it last night for the first time and woke up with a very strange headache. Instantly, I thought it was from the Pravastatin, without even researching its side effects, especially considering the fact that I usually don't have headaches. After reading this I am about convinced that the headache was from taking Pravastatin. I don't think I will take it again as long as my cholesterol levels are not extremely high.
