Severe neck pain. Smoldering myeloma Scans normal
| Loucille76
I started having neck pain 8 months ago. I woke up and couldn't turn my neck but didn't get hurt. It has evolved from a pain in the neck to constant spasms, tightness and pain into my jaw, neck, Chest and even my face. The aim spreads into my arms and fingers. I have numb elbows and random numb patches on my arms . The area in my neck and shoulders are huge and noted up. If I try to get up and do anything , I end up with a knot the size of a golf ball on my neck. I have done two months of physical therapy, two months of chiropractor. I've had an epideral steroid injection, pain injection and early on I have tried prednisone . An MRI(no contrast) didn't show anything and neither did an PET scan. I do have smoldering multiple myeloma which is plasma cancer that isn't treated yet because it hasn't spread to the bones or kidneys yet. I have also been in a continuous migraine but Botox is now helping ease them. Can a pinched nerve do something this serious? Could there be a small lesion( as seen with multiple myeloma) that a PET and MRI did not pick up?
