I have a traumatic spinal cord injury with a baclofen pump. My legs ache and I have increasing periferal neuropathy. I am 4.5 years post injury. A pain management specialist switched me from 1200 mg gabapentin to 1200 mg horizant two months ago. Withdraw from gabapentin is painful and results in increased cramping and rls -like symptoms (although I twitch and spasm all the time, this is different). Horizant seems more effective and I have less pain when I wake up, probably because horizant is time release and gabapentin is not.

Non - stop crying.
| Charlotte
I couldn't figure out why I just couldn't stop crying. It only happens when I take horizant. My doc never heard of this side effect. I been crying so much that I'm using toilet paper to dry my tears , I ran out of tissues. This may be rare but I have found a few other post with this side effect. If you have this side effect please email me, I have a doctors appointment Monday morning, s.he can report it. Some one who has issues should not take this. It can make it 100 X worse
