Exalgo is very strong but it takes a few days to get up to full strength in the body. I take 2 oxycodone 10mg every 4 hours but after being prescribed exalgo 16mg I just take one in the morning and I'm good all day. Only need the oxy when break through pain gets tough.

Exalgo Side Effects
| JenniferNY
Why does only rxlist.com list these serious side effects and tell you to contact your doctor immediately if you have them????
EXALGO

Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
• weak or shallow breathing;
• pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest;
• wheezing, chest tightness, trouble breathing;
• seizure (convulsions);
• confusion, severe weakness or drowsiness; or
• feeling like you might pass out.

I have had chest tightness, confusion, severe weakness, and feeling like you might pass out.
I have had them for 6 months. I told my doctor and ended up at the ER TWICE from them. Never once did they tell me it was the Exalgo!! Worse, only one place on the internet that I have been able to find even lists this warning!!!!!!!!
I was previously on 300mg of Kadian and did well. I took Exalgo for 18 months, my highest doe was 96mg for just over a year.
I am sorry I ever started taking Exalgo, and after being off it for 3 weeks now the symptoms are still here. I am afraid that it has caused permanent damage!!
If you take Exalgo, please be very careful!!!!!!
