GERD producing asthma symptoms? "Silent refulx"? Am I alone?
| dsks
Anyone else have reflux that triggers asthma symptoms (tight chest and cough)? I never have burning and am actually at my worst when I get up in the morning. Trying to get off dexilant as it is messing with my body's ability to absorb nutrients and God knows what else. The asthma symptoms seem to snow ball into something like reactive airway disorder if I ignore them and don't take currently 35 mg of a dexilant equivalent being compounded for me.

You are not alone! I find that when I have an episode of the acid reflux, it makes my chest tight, and I struggle for air sometimes. The cough is so deep and nasty sounding(No mucus with it). Try elevating yourself at night if you can to keep the acid down in the stomach area ( I have taken 5 Ultra Strength Rolaids at one point just to alleviate the pain-Totally ridiculous) I found that taking Pepcid AC helps so much and it can be bought over the counter ( Like Walmart) I hope you feel better and again, you are not alone!

Couldn't figure out a weight gain of 13 lbs, joint pain, heart palpatations. Saw several doctors , not one mentioned the Dexilant , so I took myself off of it, and feel like a different person. Been iif2 weeks, not one palpatations or any joint pain! Now to make this extra weight go away....

I have started having palpations mostly after I eat about a week ago & wondered if it was a side effect?
Or I thought it was maybe it was from my vitamins. It works great for my reflux

I've been taking Dexilant for almost a year now, and within this time, I've noticed I'm losing my hair. It has thinned out considerably to the point that I thought I might lose all my hair. That's scary. Dexilant works great but I can't continue losing my hair. I also began have migraines.

I've been on dexilant for 7 mos. and about 2 mos. ago, I noticed more hair on the floor and my combs, more than normal. Approx 3 was I noticed my hair thinning much more, especially in the front. I had a light bulb moment, suspecting defiant to be the culprit. The drug hasn't helped me 100%, so at this point, going to quit altogether, hoping my acid indigestion doesn't get worse. Thanx for the posted comments. Helped in my decision.

Totally losing my hair for almost two years. Seeing a laser specialist now and we are trying to figure out why. I have been on DHT blockers and low laser therapy as well as other inhibitors from making my hair fall out.. So far nothing has helped. Today when I saw him he asked about the medicines I was on and I told him Dexilabt for over 5 yrs due to a original a stomach ulcer I had.
Culd the Dexilabt be the culprit .??? I think I will stop taking it for awhile and see if it helps. He did tell
