Pseudotumor, concussions, depression
| Jodes
I am a 55 to neurosurgeon diagnosed with pseudotumor at 23 with OP 460 and grade 4 papilledema. I have had scans without venous sinus thrombosis, but up into I was shunted at 33 yo(and did great) had high testosterone, periods rarely. I am convinced that the increased icp caused hypothalamic pituitary dysfunction.
Since then I have had breast cancer (no family history), but more significantly severe resistant depression. I am female 5ft3 and 130 lbs.
I am starting to wonder whether multiple childhood concussions caused PTC, and if the depression is directly related to brain changes as seen with the football players who have had many head injuries.
I made no connection until seeing the movie concussion, but an curious as to others experiences.

Side Effects mild - extreme Hotflashes
| BeatCancer
I have been on Tamo for about 9 months. Diagnosed with Stage 1B ER positive left breast cancer 0/node.. Lumpectomy/Radiation therapy. Oncotype done Chemo would not bennfit. Had 30 daily rounds radiation and tamoxifin for 5 years. Only problem I am having is extreme "drippy" hot flashes. I do take effexor 75 mg and 37.5 mg to offset HRT discontinued that caused immediate menopause and to treat hot flashes. Works great for me. Tamoxifen is not a problem at this point. Trouble when I started with insomnia and headaches, these side effects did go away. No problems at this point other than frequent after care appointments with my care team.

Sculptra and Breast Cancer is there a link?
| SheilaZed
I was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, triple positive, 1/2 inch tumor and no evidence that the cancer is in my lymphnodes. I have been receiving Sculptra injections for two years now and was wondering if there is any data that might say Sculptra can cause breast cancer. I am healthy, BRCA I and II negative and 53 years old. I am not sure how I got breast cancer since I do not have any of the risk factors, and I am not on any medications. Thank you for your reply.

I had a mastectomy, will I now have radiation or will it be chemo

I am a 61 year old black female Veteran of the US army. Cancer does not run in my family so I knew I had a pea size lump on the right breast that was found 10 years of more ago. I have had one biopsy done and it was benign, no problems or lumps in the left breast where the cancer was found. I had my obgyn exam and she noticed the left breast had a mast or dense area, also where she pressed was sore. Now I noticed a little soreness when my husband would lean on it with his elbow when we had relations, but I thought nothing of it since I never had problems from this breast. Had a biopsy done, 2 on the left and 1 on the right. On December 12, 2015 my doctor called with the results "your right breast is benign but your left breast is Cancer". My husband and I cried and discussed mastectomy, anything we had to do to get rid of this and live. I want to fight and live. Well, there were MRI's of both breast and more lumps discovered in the right breast. MRI guided biopsy of the right breast in two different spots that came back benign. On March 8th I had a mastectomy of my left breast, the initial appearance was scary, but I realized that I am still the same, still in here, just one less body part. The bible says,"If thy eye offends thee, pluck it out" I am in good spirits and looking forward to the rest of my life and to enjoying it with family and friends. Oh, I did basic training at Fort McClellan, Al, which the EPA closed and CNN labeled it the most toxic place on earth.

Fecal transplant successful on dog.
| Mari28
My experience with this involves a 1 yr old visla breed dog. I adopted him from the shelter. (Who would surrender their Visla to a shelter...these are not cheap dogs and are very sought after by anyone familiar with the breed.) I took him home and low and behold I found out right quick why someone got rid of him: he has 30 loose stools a day. He was re-de-wormed at the vet to no avail. Still 20 to 30 crap piles every day. I fed him good chicken and rice for several weeks like the vet suggested...no luck...still crap everywhere. Had read some about fecal transplants.....sooooo when I took my other healthy dog for a walk, I scooped up HIS BM in a plastic bag and went straight home, used plastic spoon to put "do" in an oral syringe (free from pharmacy), stuck syringe 1/8 inch or so (?) up the crappers behind sand pushed the plunger... I did a second one the next day just to be sure, BUT.....the dog started immediately (within a day) of having NORMAL bowel function. I am sold ! He started having 1 BM about 15 minutes after he ate. No more problems. Also, I might add, the whole thought of "blending/straining" is absurd...WHY would you do that ? By then you have KILLED most of the good bacteria that you were trying to transplant...to say nothing of being highly unsanitary. I tried to keep the good stool sample as intact as possible so the anaerobic bacteria could still be safe (?) inside the stool, Many good bacteria are going to die as soon as they are exposed to air. Imaging what happens to them with blending/straining. I know it worked for my dog. They have been using this technique on cows for over 100 years. I have breast cancer now and can assure you I will utilize till from a family donor, especially if I have to have chemo and have my gut flora dicimmated

It’s not clear what causes breast cancer.
Doctors know that breast cancer occurs when some breast cells begin growing abnormally. These cells divide more rapidly than healthy cells do and continue to accumulate, forming a lump or mass. The cells may spread (metastasize) through your breast to your lymph nodes or to other parts of your body.

Breast cancer most often begins with cells in the milk-producing ducts (invasive ductal carcinoma). Breast cancer may also begin in the glandular tissue called lobules (invasive lobular carcinoma) or in other cells or tissue within the breast.

Researchers have identified hormonal, lifestyle and environmental factors that may increase your risk of breast cancer. But it’s not clear why some people who have no risk factors develop cancer, yet other people with risk factors never do. It’s likely that breast cancer is caused by a complex interaction of your genetic makeup and your environment.
