Adderall blackout!
| Squirrel!!3131
I've only been taking Adderall 20mg for about a year. Now, I'm not a big drinker. My party days are pretty much behind me. However, I've recently noticed that when I do get together with the girls for a couple drinks after taking one 20mg Adderall earlier that day, that I black out. I haven't actually passed out, but I've lost time. No one even seems to notice when this is happening to me! Just today, I went to a friend's house and had 2 glasses of wine. I got home, made myself dinner, did laundry, and cleaned my dishes. I don't remember ANY of this! Still, the clothes are hung up neatly, dishes done, and I'm guessing by the little pasta sauce stain on my dress, I ate when I came home.... Was I sleepwalking?!?!!! My boyfriend said he saw me do all this, and I seemed completely coherent, just really irritable. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I drank a ton of water, and only had two drinks! I don't get it. No more drinks for me! That's some scary mess!

I can relate to the previous posts. I am on Adderall 30mg XR and have been a functional black out almost every time that I drink. No one around me can tell I am wasted from only a drink or two because I appear to be coherent. It really is a scary feeling to wake up and not remember the night before.

I completely agree with the previous comment, "If you're on these meds you shouldn't drink at all. Or you will turn into a bipolar manic depressive."

Yes that happened to me all the time sober or drinking. I recently quit drinking because of it. I am still taking Adderall 35 days without any wine or beer. I think if you're on these meds you shouldn't drink at all or you will turn into bipolar manic depressive. I had to choose one or the other. I choose Adderall.

I can completely relate to this. It doesn't happen every time I have drinks with the wife but we'll be watching an episode of The Strain or something else and having rum and cokes... she'll say that I was actively engaged into the show with her, we'll be talking about what had just happened, made dinner... and I can't remember what we talked about, what happened in that episode, what we had for dinner... it's bad. It is effecting our relationship a bit because she gets frustrated I can't reme

Strange they deleted the rest of my post :/ I said just do your intake and be honest with the psychiatrist. If you need a 12 step program for your addiction google it or get back on your meds but don't abuse them!

I find it odd no one commented on your post after nearly two thousand views. Sounds like you need to go to a psychiatrist. Go to your general doctor first and let him know you were happier on your Adderall with out it you have been experiencing XYZ whatever it is you're going thru... and with it you feel XYZ and your life is better because it helps you XYZ. He will then recommend you see a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist will do an intake. Don't ramble on and on and tell them you want drugs. Ju

30 mg Adderall = bad breath?
| krinh
i take the orange ovals. 1 20mg and 1 30mg. i only recently switched to the 30 mg. used to only take 2 20's. after a while of taking the 30's [2-3 months] i have noticed a foul taste in ma mouth. only way i can explain it it when i had my tonsils removed and the healing process caused sever halitosis. i dont know if thats whats happening.... but i never had this bad of an issue with just the 2 20's.

@ krinh: This is why: Adderall dehydrates you so if you're not drinking at least your proper daily liter amount (which is based on weight, activity level, etc.) you'll suffer from a dry mouth as you probably know and this affects your normal saliva production. So the higher the dosage and the more frequently you take them you're are more prone to develop tonsil stones within the pockets of the tonsil area. You may not have any or may not know you do until they get wedged out over time. Tonsil s

Can confirm. It really isn't bad when staying hydrated and drinking lots of water. But it tastes like metal in my mouth (at first I thought I was getting sick or something, but the sickness never happened).
June 28, 2014
It's true and it's cause it dehydrates you leaving you without the salivation you usually have.

All my life I've had a tough time focusing. After Googling a bunch of stuff about ADD/ADHD, I self-diagnosed myself (lol) with ADD. I went to my doc beginning of April and indeed he told me I had ADD with mild ADHD. He started me off with Adderall, 15mg 1 tablet, twice a day. It worked freaking GREAT for the first 2 weeks (I only took it Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays cause these were the days I had classes, and it was mostly me having a tough time focusing in classes) then it didn't work much anymore... I went back beginning of this month (May) and he bumped me up to 20mg 1 tablet, twice a day. It's been working well so far... I've had crazy headaches the first two weeks of my 15mg doses then they w

and you end up with symptoms that the meds are actually supposed to get rid of then clearly those 10-20 people are only taking it to feel the stimulation of the amphetamines if they didn't have the excessive talking problem before and they developed that symptom after they took it. So to close, in all actuality it was your comment that was useless and irrelevant. I may have been a little verbose myself but your the 1 that made yourself look ignorant in the end :)

one of my "symptoms" not side effects actually is talking excessively which runs in the hyperactivity class of ADHD. There are actually 4 different classifications of ADHD which include 1. Disorganization & Forgetfulness. 2. Impulsivity 3. Emotional Difficulties 4. Hyperactivity or Restlessness and 3 classes of ADD..1. Hyper-focus 2. Trouble Concentrating & Staying Focused 3. Disorganization & Forgetfulness. If you take this medication no matter what class of ADD/ADHD

Adderall Ruined MY TEETH
| barneca
I started taking Aadderall when I was 14 years old. I'm now 31..it has completely ruined my teeth I use to have beautiful teeth. Now they are falling out of my head and my dentist tells me that I probably want have all my teeth at 35. I wish I knew that a medication that was prescribed to me at such a young age that did benefit me and calm me down to where I wasn't so hyper and could focus would take away my lively hood. I'm a single mother I never had any dental promblems growing up I had perfect pearly white teeth. Adderall has taken my smile away. I feel robbed of my confidence and lead down a road where as a single mother I can't afford dental work. I have no idea what to do if I must get the word out ADDERALL WILL KILL YOUR SMILE TAKE AWAY YOUR CONFIDENCE AND DESTROY YOUR PERSONALITY. I feel the pharmasuchela company should be held responsible and give me back my smile. I want you all to know yes adderall calmed me down, I focused, I was an all A student and graduate College with a 4.0 and hold a degree BBA in Markeing and Sales. But now at 31 HALF of my teeth are gone. Please take an alternatie drug ask your doctor about how to control it naturally or change your diet. I sure wish I knew and had my smile back! Spread the word ADDERALL KILLS YOUR SMILE.

If you are experiencing dry mouth while using Adderall which is a common symptom, you are in danger of tooth decay due to the lack of enzymes found in saliva which aid in digestion of Breaking down food. There are some products that help the body produce more saliva by stimulating the salivary glands. Biotene products can help

Bruxism was just added to the Medication Guide for Adderall in July 2014 so actually this is an official side effect to the drug product you are taking. I am 38 and have been on it for 8 years, i am not abusing the drug, and also have damage due to grinding (Bruxism)

May 14, 2014
Unless you were abusing the Adderall for all those years, it is not the cause of your tooth loss. Bruxism is a common problem with any type of stimulant, so is dry mouth. Both of those problems can be easily identified remedied. To blame a prescription level of adderall for losing all of your teeth by age 35 is more than a little bit silly. Drinking sodas or other sugary foods, improper dental care, some diseases, there are plenty of things that can cause tooth loss like you describe. Tak

Adderrall and Procardia together

I am currently taking Procardia 30xl and Adderrall 20mg regular release and for me it seems the two are a wonderful combination that allow me to function better than I have in a couple years. Maybe those with bad reactions don't actually suffer from ADD or ADHD or it just really depends on the person. My BP has gone back into a normal range and I am seeing so many awesome changes.

I know adderal causes, at least initially, a diuretic effect, you should increase your water, or since your an althelte, your electrolyte consumption. Talk to your doctor about possibly lowering the dose if this continues to be a problem.

The swollen joints and bad headache might be a sign that your blood pressure is very high! With all of the different things you take and smoking on top of that I would say please get it checked! Adderrall raises your BP, smoking raises your BP, lack of sleep raises your BP. A headache feeling taking over your body might be your blood vessels being so swollen and the pressure of your blood trying to pump through them. Just speaking from experience =)

Adderall causing me to smell
| WhiteTigerGirl
I've been on Adderall for years. 20mg twice a day. Recently I've noticed this weird chemical odor coming from me. I've never had this before. I thought it was just me till I found this. I had heard about meth causing you to smell bad but not Adderall. For 3 years I took the little round pink ones. But since I moved my pills are now orange and oval. It wasn't till I started the orange pills did this effect happen. I have to take several showers a day now, constantly apply deodorant. I eat and drink normally while on the med. Even though I'm not hungry I still eat because of my diabetes. I also drink plenty of fluids. I've called every pharmacy in town to try to get my pink pills back but everyone here only has the orange ones. I've tried every add med on the market and this is the only one that does any good for me. Is there anything that can be done to help it or am I doomed to smell terribly or bath every few hours forever? Help please!

I just ran into this post and yeah, Adderall can make you smell kind of funky. I used it a few years ago, taking 20mg once per day. I remember being sent home from work because my coworkers said 'Nate, you smell.' I was horrified and troubled at the time but I figured out that what was really going on was 2 things. The first- I was not drinking enough water. The second- I had other issues below the surface which were causing me to sweat, like deep fears and things that I needed help for.

I just stumbled on this thread while looking for something else...I have felt smelly too-never would have made the connection with Adderall! My rx is 20 mg twice daily, though I find 30 in the morning is more helpful; then I might or might not feel the need for the second dose.
About the smell- I've never talked about it with anyone, so I don't know if it's noticeable to others. I haven't been in an intimate relationship since taking Adderall. Do other people have confirmation that this smell

I too have had significantly increased armpit odor since starting Adderall a few years ago. Adderall is metabolized by the liver. The liver is already busy breaking down toxins so they can be flushed out of the body (environmental toxins, pesticides, etc.) When I am careful to limit the foods that also make the liver work extra hard, (alcohol, sugar, preservatives, dyes, and for me specifically, wheat) the smell goes away. Not immediately. It takes maybe a week? And until then, I sometimes

I took Adderall 20 Xr (Orange pill) and I never experienced any odors or excess sweating, but the fact that Adderall is a stimulant and increases bodily function by releasing epinephrine(adrenaline) may be the cause of the symptoms you guys are experiencing.

I just recently started taking Adderall XR 10 mg daily to help with treatment of a rare sleep-wake disorder that I have called Idiopathic hypersomnia (plus I have ADHD). I've never taken Adderall XR or any Adderall before. I, too, am not a sweaty or smelly person, and I have NEVER had body odor, and now I do, in my pits (mostly my left one). No it's definitely not in your head. There are several other forums that discuss a distinct smell people can sometimes get while taking Adderall.
