Welcome to our blog, we are excited about having a place where we can share ideas and insights, and we look forward to engaging with you on an array of health-related topics.

At Treato, we are passionate about what we do, not just because we believe in our product’s ability to fundamentally change the online health landscape, but because we are also all healthcare consumers.  Treato was born out of the frustration I experienced when my 16 year old daughter tore her ACL during basketball training.  Of course, we were all devastated and lacked the knowledge needed to get her back on the court.  As any father would, I did anything I could to help… so I went online. I conducted an exhaustive search until I found one forum post written by a father whose daughter had the same injury. This particular post changed the course of treatment for my daughter – and greatly assisted us in the recovery and rehabilitation process.

It’s no secret that patients are participating in online discussions in order to share first hand experiences and learn from them. The problem is that with so many experiences, how do you make sense of it all?  It’s as if you were in a large room with millions of people singing the same song at a different time and tempo. Treato is the conductor that puts all these voices in harmony so you can really listen to a song and understand the lyrics.

This song is the big picture of what people are saying about your medications and medical conditions. We strive to help you make smarter, more informed decisions about their care.

In turn, we have also seen how our site can impact how physicians, health plans and life science companies access, view and respond to user generated content. With increased communication and understanding, the sky’s the limit.

So with that said, we at Treato have made a number of commitments:

• To provide access to the most comprehensive, responsible and unbiased set of answers
• To be open in the way we build our technology and business practices
• To give back to the global patient community

Since our site is all about providing users with information, we don’t get to hear from you too often.  And so, we created this blog to connect and get to know you a little better, and I encourage you to use your voice.
