Trazadone nightmares
I was on Trazodone for my depression and insomnia. I used to take 100 ~ 150 mg before sleep and about 50%~75% of times I get really bad nightmares but when I lowered to 50mg, I was sleepy enough and when to sleep and no nightmares! I guess lowering the does enough to put u to sleep is the key. I think only 5%~10% will have mild nightmares or weird vivid dream on 50mg. But for me 50mg was the key! Try lowering ur dose to 50mg or enough to make u sleepy. Good luck!. Now, I'm on Ambien and Clonaze

I was taking Trazadone as an antidepressant at night but then it started giving me severe night terrrors. I found that the things in my life that were causing me to become depressed were now haunting me in my dreams. I couldn't escape! Instead of being an antidepressant it only reminded me of all the things I hated and my nightmares would haunt me all day long until I fell asleep again and the cycle continues.
I'm sticking to medical marijuana to help me sleep and it always makes me feel happy.
January 5, 2015
I also experienced bad nightmares and decided to stop taking it. I have been able to get normal sleep on lexapro 10mg but I developed tinnitus after starting both at the same time as my Dr. prescribed and this has not resolved since stopping the Trazodone almost 1.5 months ago.

I took the pill for 45 days and felt like a zombie after two days. I got galactorrhea, complete sexual labido cut off, a vaginal discharge for 20 years now the symptoms don't stop. Oh and my hair quit growing on my legs and armpits. Dopamine helps. But gives me a headache. Stay away from anti depressants!!!
Lori  |  September 9, 2014
I didn't have this reaction. If fact, Trazodone has been very helpful for me for sleep with no side effects. I DID have exactly the same experience you are describing when I took my one and only Cymbalta pill for fibromyalgia. Good luck!

Parkinsons Symptoms While On Xanax

After much research, I've found that high doses of Xanax taken for a long time are the biggest culprits to permanent damage or long-term withdrawals.

If you stopped abruptly, you may have caused yourself more discomfort than necessary. My research shows that 1mg daily rarely if ever causes permanent damage. Try meditation, yoga and breathing exercises while you creep through this tunnel -- and may it be short and over soon. I think you will be fine although your thinking in a fearful way may

But thanks for your post really honest and informative...keep up the good work on getting to the place where you need to be :)

Hey Thanks for your contribution, I was also in a similar situation to you, though I have never tried the Ibogaine route and have always been interested in trying it out. I've gone cold turkey so many times from alcohol, drugs and the rest...but have always ended back on some slippery slopes. The last time which I am still battling also involves an injury where opiates and benzs were prescribed I am now one again stuck in this rut. Do you know of anyone whom the Ibogaine was actually a successf

I've taken a lot of antidepressants and you should never start on a higher dose (I took a half pill my first night), they can really mess you up because the first few weeks you take them they can be stronger, and you are young. This is why you should never, never take a drug like this without a doctor overseeing you. You took too much, you should have tapered on and seen a doctor. Also, sleeping pills aren't meant for you to be able to walk around and do stuff after, but you're lucky somethi

Hey, I take this medicine. Ive been on it for about a month now. When you take it you have to have food in your stomach, never take it on an empty one it will make you really sick. Also once it kicks in you HAVE to lay down and do not get up. Youll feel your limbs started to get heavy like its hard to even lift your own arm. You do get a very weird kind of heavy floaty feeling. If you stand you can faint, pass out, or black out. The room does spin. I know it can be kinda scary the first time bu

Samo  |  February 9, 2015
Trazadone is the heavy duty sleep aid of choice with many psychiatrists b/c it is much better long term compared to ambien and benzodiazepenes but it still has some scary but rare side effects including priapism and arrythmias. If you have sharp pain in your groin or have a sustained, unwanted erection then you need to go to the ER right away and tell them you are taking trazodone.
Me  |  November 28, 2014
Trazodone does cause priapism I am so sorry it was not caught sooner. :( :( :(
Me  |  November 28, 2014
Thanks for the warning about trazodone. i'm sure many people have no problems taking it. I am not one of those. I have had alot of trouble getting to sleep taking it also the next morning I am like a zombie most of the day.I know that it is not for me. I had none of these problems taking ambien.
skylarl mcc  |  November 6, 2014
I checked in to see if there was any new info. I know many have taken this drug with NO reaction. Please realize bad reactions don't happen to everyone. But I want to warn of the POTENTIAL that this could happen. Wish somebody told me!!
SCREWEDFORLIFE  |  October 9, 2014
(god this editor is annoying! If I can't type that much, stop me! Don't let me type 500 characters then drop the last 200!) I stopped taking Ambien because the trazodone seemed to cover the sleeping problem. Now, clonazipam also helps you sleep, and is a longer lasting version of adivan, so I'm going to switch to that and see If I can drop down to just one pill :)
Bryan  |  September 20, 2014
Also, doc had me on Zoloft, Adderal, trazodone, ambien, and adivan, all drugs which, while they don't 'interact' they do entirely opposite things. Adderal 'perks' you up, while Zoloft calms you down. Adivan calms you down quickly, trazodone calms you down (and makes you sleep), ambien helps you fall asleep. So, why would I take Zoloft and adderal?! I stopped taking adderal because it caused me to need more adivan. I stopped taking zoloft cause it caused sexual side effects (being 'too calm

SCREWEDFORLIFE.. You know it was Trazodone because your Urologist said so? You were also told it was a hernia, and cancer. You had 5 operations. Doesn't sound like anyone is really sure what's going on. Search all your drugs for their side effects.

I am a 16 year old female, I took Trazadone for the first time a few weeks ago, I wasn't prescribed but I'm diagnosed with insomnia so in desperate need I took 2 of my moms Trazadone pills, being stupid thinking that one wouldn't work but thinking that 2 would. That night I was already extremely stressed out from boy trouble and had very little if not any food in my stomach. About 15 minutes later I noticed the pills started to kick in and I felt like I had to throw up, from then I just decided

LISA this is a dire t result of TRAZADONE. Reasearch the net and you will see MANY MANY men are impotent and cannot achieve a erection. When you view the litigation awards that total in millions to tens of millions depending on the case you can be DAM sure that those drug companies fought tooth and nail and LOST. If there was any chance this was just a coincidence you would not see men who have taken the same drug and have same side effect. And if read the warnings this directly states a side e

I've been taking trazodone for sleeping. I've been on it for almost four years now. I've never had a bad experience or health issues. Are you sure it's the trazodone that is making you sick?
Lisa  |  May 22, 2014
I KNOW it was trazodone because my Urologist said so. If you take a look at TRAZODONE awards or lawsuits you will see awards for this same exact situation except not as many surgeries that settle in millions to tens of millions. I did my homework before I posted.

Kate  |  April 23, 2014
Trazodone does indeed cause priapism and this sounds like it could be related. Sadly, the doctor did not figure this out until the nerve damage had been done. For those with nerve pain, please google PEA Pure or Institute for Neuropathic Pain Netherlands. They have stuff in Europe for nerve pain and it can be imported now that the packaging has the proper English supplement facts on it. I have imported it and used it for nerve pain. It does help, but it takes awhile to kick in and it is not che
Kate  |  April 23, 2014
I'm sorry to hear that you have had such pain and that your lifestyle has significantly suffered; however, I do not believe that trazodone has caused any of your problems. They were probably pre-existing and you only noticed them at around the time you took trazodone. I am no expert but it sound like a normal human mistake associating oneproblem with a coincidental (false) "cause".
Patrick  |  March 25, 2014
Why is it that you think that Trazodone caused this? There is nothing in your story that gives a correlation between the two. What is causing your scrot pain?

Cymbalta is now out as a generic form and should be more affordable if you want to stick to what is working for you.

You will need to taper off Cymbalta regardless of what drug you switch to. However, you could start Trazodone right away, I'm on both with no problems. But start taking less of Cymbalta over 2-3 weeks or you will have nauseau, headaches, etc. They call it 'discontinuation syndrome' - you're not addicted but your your brain has trouble adapting to going off it so quickly. I usuually start taking longer and longer time between doses. You can also open the capsules and pour a little bit out e
