My story with vyvanse, dealing with ADD and a learning disability
I've taken Effexor XR along with my Vyvanse and along with Adderall XR. It has done wonders for me. I've taken Cymbalta, Prozac, Zoloft, Wellbutrin (which was a nightmare for me, my aunt and my boyfriend!!!!), Lexapro, and Celexa over the past 12 years. An SSRI (Cymbalta and Effexor XR) have had the best reactions for my body. I know everyone is different, but these are the two which have worked best for me.

My daughter is on Welbutrin and has started vyvance about 2 weeks ago. She has been doing well but reading up on vyvance is scary. She has done so well on The anti-depressants it was now time to stop focusing on her schoolwork because she was diagnosed with ADD at age 10. She is now 14 and suffered major depression about 10 months ago. She has really turned herself around and is doing emotionally so much better. We are now focusing on her schoolwork to get her to do well and have put her on Vyv

My grandson has ADHD and add and he has been on several meds., then the Dr., put him on chance and intuniv and it helps a lot , he only has 2 side affects but not major and he is very smart , I believe it is a good med., if really needed but if not then yes it can have bad affects just like my daughter tried aderall and it made her very hyper and she is ocd as well but she cleaned for 2 days so it wasn't right for her . if you don't need it stay away from it !!!! It's not a game it's your life.
brenda  |  December 21, 2014
It's dangerous to people who fake adhd, I taken it for years and I'm completely fine
November 21, 2014
I'm sorry to tell you this, but addiction doesn't come in a prescription bottle, it comes in people.

Vyvanse is an amphetamine. Unlike cocaine, which is a type of methamphetamine, they both have one major factor in common, they both change the chemical balance of the brain temporaryly. Amphetamines are A LOT more safe than coke!! Almost all methamphetamine drug addicts and coke attics can't tell the difference between amphetamine and methamphetamine because they have they same reaction(feeling) to the body. Vyvanse won't cause harm to your husband, don't worry, even if he doesn't have adhd or

So the drug shouldn't be given to anyone because your husband is an idiot? cool thanks for the advice.
anon  |  November 13, 2014
You said it right away, your husband faked a disorder... He didn't need the drug and did not have ADD

Dear friend, I've been living through a similar situation, and I want you to know you're not alone, even though sometimes it seems that way. My son has been on Vyvanse for many years, but it seems that it might be time to try something different. He has also been on Prozac for depression, but many doctors feel that Wellbutrin works well for both the ADHD and the depression. We are going to try that, hopefully, since my son is still struggling so much. I let my own health go bad because of all t

I'm a single mom with a dad it out of my sons life as well definitely has the good side and the bad side I like the mother before I can vouch for vyvanse it's definitely has saved my son he was in an out of different schools because I didn't know how to deal with him and this year with him taking Vyvanseis been a complete 360 I know what you're going through hang in there!

I feel so bad for your struggles and suggest that your son gets therapy. You do not deserve to live like this and I hope for all the best
Person  |  October 10, 2014
Dear Friend,

I am not an expert. I am a mother. Vyvanse saved my daughter, my family, and me from ADD. She takes one pill in bed in the morning before her feet hit the floor. All of her great traits (clean cut, polite, well mannered) shine through and all of the horrible traits (not turning work in, abusiveness, lying... "Mr. Hyde") are gone. I will pray for you and your son.

Signed,

Relieved

You've been on it for two months. That's why you don't understand people complaining. Two months is a very short amount of time. I have battled ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety and minor Tourette's Syndrome, all which were diagnosed before the age of six. Because of my other issues, mainly my anxiety, I was not given ADHD meds as a child because to my parents, no benefit I could receive from ADHD meds was NOT worth the suffering I went through the way it would bring out my anxiety & tics. And I

My doc tried to switch from adderall to vyvanse/ritalin combo. I take 70mg a day vyvanse and 10mg Ritalin right before I feel crash coming on. When she found out I was sleeping until 1pm and missing work, as well as dry mouth and dry skin, we are going RIGHT back to 60mg Adderall (20mg/3x a day) and 10mg IR (if needed). Probably won't need the 10mg IR, but it is good to have in case of emergency.

With Vyvanse, I also feel very nervous going out in public and my husband doesn't like my hyper fo

lol at the meth addict giving medical advice, I didn't know being in recovery made you a PHD/MD capable of giving sound advice.

As for Shell, of course it made your mania horrible, you took a drug that wasn't designed for weight loss. When you misuse drugs like this they will have horrendous side effects.
anon  |  November 13, 2014
they cut off my comment :( JUST TO SUM IT UP!!! DONT TAKE ANY DRUG LIKE VYVANSE OR ADDERALL!!!! DO YOUR BRAIN AND YOUR BODY A FAVOR!!! IN THE END YOU WONT REGRET NOT TAKING IT!!! YOU WILL ONLY REGRET TAKING IT IN THE LONG RUN!!!
JAMES  |  July 16, 2014
One more thing after reading the actual post! Only you and your brain will share a deep connection. You dont need to take drugs for the minor side effect that differs from person to person, you dont need anti-psychotic drugs to help what the vyvanse did to you. Where you went wrong was taking adderall or vyvanse prescribed in the first place. From experience i would take a 40mg adderall for recreational use (because me being prescribed and up all the time didnt feel right/ I didnt agree with it
JAMES  |  July 16, 2014
The best thing to do is take your daughter off the drug, your only digging her a deeper hole when you keep feeding her it. This will eventually lead to a hardcore addiction and craving for it. Do your daughter a favor and please take her off the drug! A drug free healthy life is what she needs to succeed, whether you believe it or not. Please take my advice i use to be a meth addict and the coughing is causing damage to her stomach, heed my warning and your stress will be free! I love everybody
JAMES  |  July 16, 2014
I experienced psychosis that last for over a month due to taking Vyvanse for 4 days. It has taken quite a while to get it all corrected. I also had a lot of religious conspiracy type thoughts, with demons and prophecies and the end of the world being involved. I pray that you can regain what you have lost due to this horrible drug.
J.  |  July 7, 2014
I hope you're doing better now. You've gone through hell and it takes gutts and compassion to talk about what you went through. My 9 yr old daughter was put on vyvanse to help with her dyslexia. She had huge mood swings though she's not bipolar. I tried biphenten to see if she would do better. Her grades were slipping so i put her bac on vyvanse. After 2 weeks, her grades were up....but she wasn't able to sleep and constantly coughed at night. Not sure what to do:(
Thank you for sharing  |  May 11, 2014
I totally agree and symphathize. I loved vyvanse for weight loss and long, energy filled days. However, being bipolar schizoeffective, this only made mania HORRIBLE. Thanks for your story.

It has taken me years to clear my face up. The reason your face breaks out is because the Vyvanse is speeding up your body which in turns speeds up your sweat and oil production. I currently use Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask in the morining. I wash and rinse it away with hot water, followed by rinsing with cold water to seal my pores before I put anything on it or even dry it. I do use the Norwex cloths at night for makeup removal or just with hot water

The vyvanse made mine come back, however I found it was because I was unknowing touching my face again a lot throughout the day. Honestly that was the cure for me, prescript and no touch rule

At the same time I switched to vyvanse, I was moving from place to place and ran out of my Proactive.
With these new break outs, I thought it was because I didn't have my Proactive at my new address... Which has recently found its way to my new home! Woo HOO!
Since its arrival 2 weeks ago, I have been using it by the book, and its WORKING. The big ones that left marks on my face are fading, and the others are down to one and fading fast!
Try PROACTIVE! Its amazing.

Wow. I have been getting pimples, the big ones you talk about, and never thought it was the Vyvanse till I read this post!
I have never broken out with Big ones like this, or in the areas that they are appearing.
In college I started using Proactive because my skin started to break out more. I have been using some of the products off and on with other skin care brands for anti aging since then for 10+ years, with excellent results. At the same time I switched to vyvanse, I was moving fro

That makes total sense why I've been breaking out so bad!! It's not like little pimples either they are huge and get infected!! I'm actual about to switch to Ritalin sr? My insurance won't pay for the high doses of vyvanse!! I don't feel like I'm taking anything when I take vyvanse even at 80 mg I can't get anything done and all I want to do is sleep!!

Yes! It took several months off for it to get better and still struggle at times. Also still don't feel like myself before I started taking it completely it's been over 2 years and also I swear to this day it was what caused the horrific joint pain that I still deal with which started suddenly shortly after I started taking it. I am 23 years old now. I was 20 when I started it. Address helped but I have a heart defect that got a lot worse with it, and it made me lose weight faster than I h
