Well this may be a lil simplistic of a response to your concerns.... But basic anatomy says that penile arousal is a parasympathetic response whereas ejaculation is a sympathetic process. Any neuro-stimulant (at least the limited few I'm aware of at this point of my education) is a vasoconstrictor ergo it limits blood flow aka ED. So some of the best advice I could give you as a doctor in training (still a 2nd year student on vyvanse) is to make sure you consume a lot of vasodilation entities a

My story with vyvanse, dealing with ADD and a learning disability
Honestly, you sounds a little like me when I used to take adderall. It gave me a superhuman feeling, like I could do anything, but I did too much and slept too little. Over a long period of time, this made me extremely emotional (I was essentially overtired but had no idea). I would cry almost every day and I would get really frustrated constantly. Switching to vyvanse helped, but I think the larger aid was realizing that I needed to look at my medication differently. While on adderall, I treat

I've taken Effexor XR along with my Vyvanse and along with Adderall XR. It has done wonders for me. I've taken Cymbalta, Prozac, Zoloft, Wellbutrin (which was a nightmare for me, my aunt and my boyfriend!!!!), Lexapro, and Celexa over the past 12 years. An SSRI (Cymbalta and Effexor XR) have had the best reactions for my body. I know everyone is different, but these are the two which have worked best for me.

My daughter is on Welbutrin and has started vyvance about 2 weeks ago. She has been doing well but reading up on vyvance is scary. She has done so well on The anti-depressants it was now time to stop focusing on her schoolwork because she was diagnosed with ADD at age 10. She is now 14 and suffered major depression about 10 months ago. She has really turned herself around and is doing emotionally so much better. We are now focusing on her schoolwork to get her to do well and have put her on Vyv

Wow, this chemical ignorance is baffling. Use google for chemists sake. Cocaine is not even close to being chemically related to amphetamine or methamphetamine. Methamphetamine is simply amphetamine with an N-methyl functional group. That's it. A single alkyl substitution is the difference between meth and adderall and what vyvanse is converted into in the body.

I'm sorry your husband went into the shithole with Vyvanse but have you considered it's because he didn't have the disease it's made for? I have adhd, as does my ten year old sister and we both are doing SO much better and are FAR more successful since we started taking it. Obviously it's going to do different and potentially harmful things to someone with a different brain setup than who it's made for (adhd is a psychological disorder and thus caused by an imbalance in brain chemistry). I wanted to bring something to your attention. My 18 year old son was switched from Adderall to Vyvanse. Within the 1st 2 weeks we noticed how extremely impulsive he became. He couldn't control himself. We went back to the doctor and he was concerned that it was quite possible that my son may also be bipolar. He said that it's a very good indicator if vyvanse causes impulsively. It's something they look for. Ur husband's behavior became extremely impulsive. He very well could be bipolar an

Most people don't know this, but a lot of medications A) effect everybody differently B) work different ways for people who actually have the issue vs people who don't C) Can work great for one person and cause a severe ADE/ADR to another. Blaming Vyvanse, one of the safer (aside from Strattera, etc) ADD/ADHD medications is vyvanse. It is more well-tolerated by patients with other conditions aside from ADD/ADHD. It isn't that hard to be tested for ADD/ADHD (please don't try to fake the test...)

Honestly, I'm having trouble believing this story is real. If it is real, then the key to finding the source of this behavior is rooted back to the phrase "He loved it so [much] he went to the doctor and faked ADD".
We don't take Vyvanse because we "love the drug". We take it because it makes the world an easier place in which to function. Seeking out drugs because you like the way they make you feel is a psychological disorder all on its own.
That said, chemicals affect different people in d

My grandson has ADHD and add and he has been on several meds., then the Dr., put him on chance and intuniv and it helps a lot , he only has 2 side affects but not major and he is very smart , I believe it is a good med., if really needed but if not then yes it can have bad affects just like my daughter tried aderall and it made her very hyper and she is ocd as well but she cleaned for 2 days so it wasn't right for her . if you don't need it stay away from it !!!! Vyvanse is an amphetamine. Unlike cocaine, which is a type of methamphetamine, they both have one major factor in common, they both change the chemical balance of the brain temporaryly. Amphetamines are A LOT more safe than coke!! Almost all methamphetamine drug addicts and coke attics can't tell the difference between amphetamine and methamphetamine because they have they same reaction(feeling) to the body. Vyvanse won't cause harm to your husband, don't worry, even if he doesn't have adhd or

I just recently was put on Vyvanse. It really did suck in the beginning because I have never been on ADHD meds before. I didn't want to eat, I had headaches, and felt sick. However, after the first couple weeks it was so much better! I am so glad I stuck through. Vyvanse gives so much energy to get things accomplished during the day. Hopefully you hung in there, I really loved it after the first couple weeks!
Victoria  |  January 19, 2015
This sounds like a dosage that's too high. Vyvanse is about 2 times as strong as addreall, so if you were on 40 milligrams of adderall, 15 milligrams of vyvanse is the equivalent, but it has fewer dosing options (I think the lowest is 20 mg), so it can be tricky to switch.

Dear friend, I've been living through a similar situation, and I want you to know you're not alone, even though sometimes it seems that way. My son has been on Vyvanse for many years, but it seems that it might be time to try something different. He has also been on Prozac for depression, but many doctors feel that Wellbutrin works well for both the ADHD and the depression. We are going to try that, hopefully, since my son is still struggling so much. I let my own health go bad because of all t

Dear Friend,

I am not an expert. I am a mother. Vyvanse saved my daughter, my family, and me from ADD. She takes one pill in bed in the morning before her feet hit the floor. All of her great traits (clean cut, polite, well mannered) shine through and all of the horrible traits (not turning work in, abusiveness, lying... "Mr. Hyde") are gone. I will pray for you and your son.

lol at the meth addict giving medical advice, I didn't know being in recovery made you a PHD/MD capable of giving sound advice.

As for Shell, of course it made your mania horrible, you took a drug that wasn't designed for weight loss. When you misuse drugs like this they will have horrendous side effects.

One more thing after reading the actual post! Only you and your brain will share a deep connection. You dont need to take drugs for the minor side effect that differs from person to person, you dont need anti-psychotic drugs to help what the vyvanse did to you. Where you went wrong was taking adderall or vyvanse prescribed in the first place. From experience i would take a 40mg adderall for recreational use (because me being prescribed and up all the time didnt feel right/ I didnt agree with it

The best thing to do is take your daughter off the drug, your only digging her a deeper hole when you keep feeding her it. This will eventually lead to a hardcore addiction and craving for it. Do your daughter a favor and please take her off the drug! A drug free healthy life is what she needs to succeed, whether you believe it or not. Please take my advice i use to be a meth addict and the coughing is causing damage to her stomach, heed my warning and your stress will be free! I love everybody

I experienced psychosis that last for over a month due to taking Vyvanse for 4 days. It has taken quite a while to get it all corrected. I also had a lot of religious conspiracy type thoughts, with demons and prophecies and the end of the world being involved. I pray that you can regain what you have lost due to this horrible drug.

I hope you're doing better now. You've gone through hell and it takes gutts and compassion to talk about what you went through. My 9 yr old daughter was put on vyvanse to help with her dyslexia. She had huge mood swings though she's not bipolar. I tried biphenten to see if she would do better. Her grades were slipping so i put her bac on vyvanse. After 2 weeks, her grades were up....but she wasn't able to sleep and constantly coughed at night. Not sure what to do:(

I totally agree and symphathize. I loved vyvanse for weight loss and long, energy filled days. However, being bipolar schizoeffective, this only made mania HORRIBLE. Thanks for your story.

It has taken me years to clear my face up. The reason your face breaks out is because the Vyvanse is speeding up your body which in turns speeds up your sweat and oil production. I currently use Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask in the morining. I wash and rinse it away with hot water, followed by rinsing with cold water to seal my pores before I put anything on it or even dry it. I do use the Norwex cloths at night for makeup removal or just with hot water
