why would my insurance reject Osphena?
I'm 66 have tried Premarin and Estrace without any improvement. My doctor gave me about 20 of the Osphena pills and in that short time I was very happy (the dryness is so bad it feels like sticky fly paper. Cigna Health Srings will not cover it although the doctor prescribed it. I'm retired and the cost is to high for me without help.

I finally got mine to cover it but they only covered like $20. Go to the osphena website and you can get a coupon from the manufacturer with 6 months of savings. I used it and my cost was going to be $170 but with coupon it was $75. Much better. Makes me so mad that insurance companies can say whether we need a prescription that our DOCTOR prescribed. Grrr!

Love the Oshena, it really helped with the vaginal dryness & made having sex possible again. My doctor gave me samples as well as coupons to use if I wanted to get refills but the coupons can't put a dent in the cost! Because my insurance doesn't cover this, I would be paying $264.00 for a 30 ay supply & $578.00 for a 90 supply!!! Guess that saying "too good to be true" is true! :(

Osphena
Have been taking for 2 1/2 months. No improvement with regard to discomfort. Am still having side-effects (hot flashes, sweating, leg cramps, nervousness and anxiety.) The doctor told me it takes time to work. Considering stopping Osphena.

I've been on Osphena for about 8 months and it's not helped with intercourse pain (burning). Plus I have hot flashes and sweating all day! It's worse than going through menopause as I had only a couple of episodes the. I'm going to stop the Osphena but wonder what to try next?

Blister Pack
I just started taking Osphena. I can't say I've noticed any difference yet as far as the pain goes.

One thing that really annoys me about Osphena has nothing at all to do with the pills itself. It is the fact that I have arthritis in my thumbs and I can't push the pills through the cardboard. I find it totally unacceptable that a company who makes a product for older women doesn't take into consideration the fact that many of us have arthritic hands, or that we just don't want to go through the hassle of pills in blister packs. Put them in a damn bottle!!!

I guess this answers my question of why I'm having so many hot flashes these days! And, when I weighed in at the doctor's office the other day, I couldn't believe I had gained weight. I'm stopping Osphena as of right now!

the refill I picked up today (from CVS) is in a bottle! Yay!

Yes, I agree...the drug is expensive, and the blister packs are a pain!

The cost is one issue, $$$++++, but the blister-pak is a deal breaker for me. This drug is not worth the trouble.

YESSSSS! I totally HATE the blister packs! My husband has to poke all my pills out each month and transfer them to an empty bottle.

As I was saying, I traced back to when I started taking Osphena, and guess what? It was exactly when I started gaining weight. Now I am trying to lose the 8 pounds again. There is no mention of this as a side effect on any of the sites I have checked. Anyone else out having the same problem?

So good to know I'm not the only one with the packaging problem. I have to use scissors and cut around each tablet to get the darn thing out. I usually do this when I get my script and transfer them to a MEDICINE BOTTLE THAT IS NOT CHILD PROOF!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's almost enough to make me stop taking the medication!! Not only this but I had been dieting before I started taking OSPHENA and had gotten to my goal weight. Then I started gaining weight because I seem to be always hungry. I traced back

urethral atrophy
I have been diagnosed with urethral atrophy and been prescribed Estrace cream for 15 years. It has worked fairly well but not perfectly. I was wondering if Osphena would be of help for my condition?
