tramadol and nightmares
The rest of my comment seemed to have been cut off, so I'll just finish it up by saying that some of the side-effects of true narcotics - like nightmares and itching or "crawling" skin - happen with tram too at higher doses, but they'll drop away again whenever you lower the dose, or even on their own at sustained higher doses (so long as the higher doses are taken as ordered and not messed with or abused. Moving between 50mg and 100mg as you are doing is fine.

Nightmares are a common side-effect of opiate use, from the beast that is Morphine all the way down to little tramadol which contains only a small amount of synthetic opioid and has very weak effects on the u-opioid receptor - amounting to about 15% of the pain relief provided. The remaining 85% of tramadol's makeup is basically an SNRI anti-depressant, like Effexor or Milnacipran. In other words, as far as narcotics go, Tramadol barely qualifies as one, if at all. BUT it still has a few of the

I have a script for Tramadol and take it at bedtime to sleep. I have severe leg pain that keeps me awake.. I don't notice any cravings to take more than that... 1 50mg Tramadol and 2 Diphenhydramine tabs and I'm down for the night.. I feel good the next day, unlike with Ambien and the others I've used.

will I test positive on a oxycodone strip drug test by taking tramadol?

@Tonya
That's one of the ways it just absolutly ruins your life! You will take all the ones you get prescibed(me 180 a month)after that you will spend your last dime to get them! No money, well in my case ruin your life even more by stealing anything and everything from your family... It's just an absolute shame and seems as if no matter how hard ya try your just taking 10 sis back!

everything you have said is SO TRUE! I'm still struggling extremely bad with my addiction! I first got prescribed them when i was 14 dye to sports injuries/1-2 50mgtab every 4-6 hours. At first it was great, i was finally able to do even simple little things with out crying from pain. But when i was 16 me and my buddy decided to experiment and took 4each and noticed they made us feel loopy. So then is would occasionally take a few more than prescribed. By age 19 i was taking 10-12 at a

They don't even do anything for My pain ..Just make light headed and have double vision when objects are too close it's a bitch to dial a phone
Matthew  |  June 28, 2014
Where were you able to obtain that many a day with a prescription? Thanks
Tonya  |  May 17, 2014
Try to get off of them before you get as bad as me. I've been taking 40-50 tramadol 50mg per day for ten years. I has completely destroyed my life and getting off of them is next to impossible, and I have no idea what to do. Trust me, if you're an addict, get off of them. They are highly addictive and the amount you take every day will get larger and larger. The withdrawal is severe. It's been compared to the withdrawal you get from heroin. Stop, or taper off ASAP.

Congratulations, you apparently are not addicted to opiates nor enjoy them too much. Dilaudid would keep me stoned, with a euphoric feeling.

The MD knew withdrawals are going to be expected. I was given chlonodine and phentermine to help. It worked will and now I am off meds. All this tx was supported by studies. A general MD will not have the knowledge to feel comfortable.
Rudy  |  May 31, 2014
Try to find a MD who is a pain management specialist along with being an addiction specialist or addictionologist. These doctors are much more knowledgeable on pain management along with other treatment that will help support your pain management. For example, my pain management MD had me on a pain med from a chronic injury. He also discovered I needed testosterone. After a year of treatment my chronic pain was feeling so much better that we decided to try to stop the pain meds. The MD kne

Keppra is a seizure med. It made my wife go through what you described. Her doc changed her to lamotragene (spelling is off on that). My concern is that tramadol is not supposed to be taken by people with epilepsy. Or anyone with a higher chance of seizures. It lowers the threshold for seizures. So if you have seizures and are still taking tramadol, please talk to your doctor asap..m its not safe.

Mobic is in the same class as ibuprophen, Aleve, etc. They are all NSAID (non steroid anti inflammatory drugs) and Tramadol is not a narcotic pain med but it does mimic some opiate pain meds and gives you pain relief similar to taking an opiate
