MELATONIN AND MEMORY LOSS
I had nasty chills followed by nasty nausea; stopped taking and seriously disabling memory loss followed. I very strongly suspect causes are from Melatonin. I AM IN ON ANY CLASS ACTION SUIT.

Why so forgetful ? Haven't had a real laugh in years.
Hi, I am a 53 year old woman. I don't think I am terribly depressed these days (in comparison to years of not getting out of bed), but I do have days where I cry for nothing. I am scared with my memory problem these days. Every time is top an activity to do something else, I forget to go back to the original thing. Ie..getting ready to feed the dog...someone knocks on door...I forget that I never fed the dog. Last week I went to give her a treat. I opened the bag...then closed the bag, the dog was still staring at me and I realized I may not have given her the treat. I asked my Mom and she said I didn't. If I have something in my hand, I will automatically start to swallow it, like when I am taking one of my medicines or my many vitamins...that one is scary. I have to concentrate to put out my nightly medicine of three different pills, before I take any so I don't forget which ones I have taken. If I don't check my text messages right when it rings, I will forget about it...the list goes on and on and it gets really scary because, it seems to be getting worse.
I also have a very hard time falling asleep but once I am asleep I can sleep for 7,8,9,10 hours or more and I never want to get back up.
I am taking Imipramine. I started it for depression but now I try to take it at night to help me sleep. I take 2 50mgs. I have just started taking Trazadone 50mg at night and one sublingual melatonin at night. I take 2 Pentasa 4 times a day 500 mg for Crohns Disease and I take 3 sublingual Suboxine strips for my chronic pain for the Crohns and Arthritus.
I have to stay away from any Narcotics or meds like Xanax, which I use to take for pain and anxiety but they almost ruined my life. I was also on Ambien CR for years and that caused me so many problems that I am sure my family prefers that I am just forgetful now. Believe me, in comparison this is a blessing. However, I don't want to switch symptoms, I want to be safe in my own house and this forgetfulness REALLY bothers me! Soon my last child will leave home and I will be alone. I scare myself now. When I no longer have someone who can tell me things like..."you left the kitchen water on" or "stove" ect ect... That could be a big disaster. If it is from something I am taking, I would like to change this.
Please help. Thanks., Leslie

I have had this for a while and I couldn't figure out why I could not finish a sentence since I started the lactulose I did better but the time while I had no help and have mental illness as it is but had dealt till the toxins took over my mind, encephalopathy is what it is called. I know this disease can go on forever but still make you so sick you wonder why you can't just be free of it not wanting to sound morbid but death seems better at times for me. I don't live close to anyone so I go through this mostly alone and too many family problems.
