Using loperamide for opiate withdrawals
I have been an IV heroin and oxycodone user daily for three months. I decided to quit and began researching otc meds to aid with my withdrawal symptoms and began reading a lot about loperamide. With skepticism, I went to the pharmacy and bought naproxen and generic Imodium tablets. They're 2mg and after almost 24 hours with no h, I took 50mg of loperamide and within a couple hours I began feeling much better. No more skin crawling, irritability, diarreah, sweats.. I felt fine. I continued this for four days and then went 48 hours with no loperamide and I was miserable. I slept a total of 4 hours in two nights and had had enough. I bought more loperamide and took 50mg last night about 9pm and by midnight I was sound asleep and had 9 straight hours of uninterrupted sleep, no bullsh**! I was skeptic but I honestly a believer that loperamide really does inhibit my opioid receptors and drastically decrease withdrawal symptoms. It's thanksgiving today and I'm truly grateful to feel well enough to spend time with friends and family without being sick!
