Motrin/Ibuprofen vs. Meloxicam
I have had back pain for more than 50 years. My back was bent due to the pain. Doctors said, it is due to scoliosis. For the last 15 plus years, they gave me Motrin/Ibuprofen 800 mg three times a day plus exercise, chiropractor, therapy...Nothing worked. My new Doctor (Pain Management) said, pain due to a minor scoliosis and arthritis. He gave me Meloxicam 7.5mg two times a day. "Magic" happened. After taking only 3 tablets, I'm a new man (63 years old). The pain is gone about 70%. My back is straight almost as your pencil. Try Meloxicam if Ibuprofen did not work for you.

Dudley your comment has no effect on the question of meloxicam vs. turmeric??

I have found that the Doctor did not prescribe a strong enough mixture for the servere pain I have. What he gave me .3/5/4% much too weak. I have found this mild mixture to be very good on Insect bites though, especially where you have to pull off one of those nasty Ticks!

meloxicam and weight gain

Same here. I was on a diet, and hurt my hip. I was put on mobic 2 times daily. Got on the scales this morning, and after only 2 days, gained 3 pounds. And I'm tired too. I've been on Mobic before. My pain is all but gone, though.

perhaps the 5 pound weight gain from your damaged hip caused the problem because you could not get around well enough to burn the excess calorie intake from the injury.
