Sorry for your loss. I believe hydrocodone is a useful drug but after having taking it for over 10
yrs I have so many problems I can't deal with them. Suddenly, all the side effects started. I see a
pain management dr. and am going to get him to do something else.
ccp  |  August 4, 2014
No, he most likely did not feel any pain. Possibly an upset stomach, but he was probably unconscious before even an upset stomach developed. I'm so sorry for your loss
Angi  |  July 16, 2014
An opioid overdose is probably the LEAST painful and unpleasant way to die in existence. He probably felt bliss for a period followed by unconsciousness and respiratory failure.
MLC  |  July 15, 2014
As a teen I tried to kill myself by taking 26 10mg hydrocodone. I didn't feel anything, no pain. Mostly nausea from the o.d. And hours of hallucinations. But no pain.
Hope this helps.

Turn to the Lord for strength. If you do not know Jesus Christ, find someone who can help you get to know him, join a church & stay away from people who are not a good influence on you.
Kathy  |  September 4, 2014
You may have become deficient in nutrition from being on drugs and poor diet. You probably need to see a nutritionist to help get you straightened out. Maybe try nutrition drinks.
Element-P  |  August 11, 2014
You are stronger than any addiction. You should seek help from a professional. Talk to your parents, a counselor or priest. But whatever you do stay clean. You have done it thus far don't turn back now.

Hey bud I dont know if these other comments helped but I'm gonna post anyway. Hang in there. It gets better. I've struggled with drug and alcohol abuse my whole life and am finally sober and wishing I could have done this sooner. There are people/resources available wether it's a 12 step program or counseling. The important thing is to know that while it's hard it is possible to get out of the drug abuse cycle. Try to stay positive and if you feel like you are getting overwhelmed talk to someon

Lisa -- I am afraid your msg ran together with "no to drugs" don't you think he already got the message with his moniker? Apparently you are among them I am assailing for aping fashions (see above). I don't think we have the degree of "slavery" attributable to drugs as yourself and the vocative minority does, I do think we have a slavery effect ongoing whereby self determination and expression is being stifled or choked out by the people who say they'd like to see our freedoms fostered (mostly

Well, hey you are an arson and have tried to commit suicide taking 30 ULTRAM / Tramidol which you didn't disclose to your doctor or they'd never have written you hydrocodome. Be honest with yourself -- didn't you have other issues other than a doctor prescribing you medications for a disease or defect/illness that you did not have and didn't act in an credible manner for your own benefit and then blame your wrong decisions on inanimate objects which you openly say don't openly say misused. I am relatively certain no one asked for advice such as since you are sick or in pain shouldn't I stop taking medicine. You don't have ADHD or ADD, and likely aren't in even mild pain, and you obviously no nothing about medicine except someone prescribed it to you probably as a courtesy due to minor acute injury or minor surgery you had which in no way qualifies you to offer advice. Instead, you ape the fashion "say no to drugs"; quality of life is a question you address often in AHDD & ADD qua

Hey Hun... I know what life is like on pills, feeling the need to take a pill-to self medicate OR even out of habit. What you're going to have to do is: commit to changes. Changes you want&need. If you were told at 7years old, do you want a life that's full of all the dreams you can bring into a reality-a happy life ...or... Do you want a life of pain, on a constant run for something to make you feel better, but will only turn on you, make you so dependant on it that you can't wake up without h

Talk to the doctor who prescribed the pills. There are a lot of pain medications and people react differently to them. There could be a different class of medication or even dosage of the same medication that don't cause these side effects. The important thing is to talk to your doctor.

Sleep paralysis is a side effect of narcotics. It is a less likely side effect but does happen more than you think.
I love how people try to diagnose you with narcolepsy over the Internet.
USN Dr  |  July 13, 2014
its called sleep paralysis. look it up, happens to me every night. its side effects from narcolepsy.
jessica  |  May 30, 2014
the reason you cant move after a dream is because while you are sleeping you body makes chemicals so you cant move. when you wake up from a dream you are just feeling the chemicals in your body. it had nothing to do with the meds.

When I started on Clonidine I pretty much became narcoleptic for a period of a few hours about 1.5-2 hours after taking it. There were times I'd literally fall asleep standing up at work, my coworkers kept taking pictures of me, haha. It got better after a couple weeks, but it was tough to work my way through. I'm on 1mg AM, 1mg PM. I work overnights and loved the AM pill as it'd knock me right out and I'd sleep great! Been on about 6 months now and it doesn't affect me in that regard at

I had the same issue when withdrawing from my fentanyl patches. Discuss this concern with your doctor as I did. I had the dose reduced to .1 mg from .2 mg. I don't know what breaking in half will do. It's an immediate release pill so it might leech too much medicine in your system too fast like with many other meds. Once I got used to the .1, I went back up to .2 (I also have high blood pressure). It also works like a charm getting rid of the stinging in my feet due to a spinal injury. G
KJ  |  January 24, 2014
Clonidine lowers your blood pressure, so you can become light headed. You probably have solved this, but if not try half and then have a few hours later.
