Neuropathy
I am not very old only 38 so when I went to the doctor with a persistant numb patch on my left thigh that had rapidly progressed from the size of a 20c piece to encompass the entire outside half of my thigh and suddenly included cramping and sizeable amounts of pain in my leg I was rather stunned when I walked out of the doctors office with an order to have an x-ray done and a script for endep to deal with the pain still no closer to the magical answer that would take me back to my active self I started wondering what have I done to myself to cause this sort of injury and how do I repair the damage so began my journey of discovery I take 10-20mg of endep per day and have the side effects of severe sedation so it's not uncommon for me to sleep up to 12hrs a day undisturbed by alarms noises etc. however if I do not take the medication I have a permanent numb patch and severe cramping burning sensations shooting pain and a total inability to perform even the most mundane housework and employment well that's impossible the physical activity involved in my work even at the lowest levels of activity is extremely painful as yet I still have no answers that can actually help me regain good quality of life so the search goes on I am truly grateful I have beautiful children who understand my limitations these days
Experienced similar but in my right shoulder like a electric shock when I sat turned my head or just about any movement

My doctor advised that gaining weight is quite normal, apparently happy people eat more, strange I always was depressed that's why I ate more - strange little cycle - Now I have to take an appetite inhibitor...... go figure.
