Zoloft Weightloss and Abilify
I started taking Zoloft about 3 weeks ago. I have been suffering with severe, medical depression, social anxiety and feelings of dread. I have good reasons to be depressed, as my Mom died of cancer 4 years ago, and I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer 2 years ago. Now I'm post menopausal at 39 and just can't cope. Immediately after taking Zoloft I began to feel good. Depression had become physically debilitating and I gained a lot I weight. I have also noticed a lack of desire for food, and have

I also have to take Diflucan/flucanozole occaisionally while taking Zoloft...never any problems.
debra  |  March 31, 2014
Zoloft saved my life. Outside of my wonderful husband it is the thing in life I am most grateful for. Much better than Prozac where I always felt medicated. It is not for everyone but if doc recommends it, I would try it. Just pay attention and give it some time and if you have any side effects do not wait to address them...do it immediately.

Cipralex vs Effexor
I was first treated with Cipralex, for Depression NOS, but it made me numb/depressed after 3 weeks. I eventually self-diagnosed with cylothymic disorder and my new pdoc has me on Effexor. It has almost instantly knocked out my ptsd. There are usually a couple days of exhaustion and restlessness when raising dosage. Despairing thoughts no longer frequent the mind. Course of treatment -1 year.

OMG you have just helped me - I get the racing heart, and now that I think about it, its after a couple of glasses of coke zero
Amy  |  August 20, 2014
I find I get way more severe reaction to caffeine when I am on Zoloft. Have to drink caffeine free coke!
Otherwise I get a racing heart, exactly like a panic attack. Took me ages to figure out, I thought they were panic attacks!

Zoloft and neck stiffness

I take 150mg Zoloft and have the sore nipples and the sore stiff neck which is horrible but this really does work on your neck it has 2 sticky pads connected to this portable device just stick them where the pain is on your neck for the night and you'll feel wonderful in the morning ??
BarbaraMay  |  October 27, 2014
I put mine neck ache down to stress, but if it is a common side affect of Zoloft maybe I'm not super stressed
August 20, 2014
i am taking Mirtazapine and sometimes Lorazepam and sometimes xanax and I too get these stiff necks and just does not subside - i have had them for the last 2 months now - any advice?

Yes, I also take Zoloft and have bad neck and back stiffness. It does seem to subside after awhile. Try heat and stretches...good luck.

In praise of Effexor - wonder of wonders
This drug is horrible. It gave me a headache everyday for 6 weeks. I went off of it, and was extremely ill. I couldn't even get out of bed one of the days....sharp head pains, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea. DO NOT take this medication until you learn the withdrawal symptoms. Easing off of it slowly just prolongs the agony.
Sue  |  October 15, 2014
I concur wholeheartedly! "SO, don’t criticize Effexor because it didn’t give you what you were looking to get – embrace it because it takes you to a better place that you never knew existed. But you have to want to go there, to find your true self." Well said. By-the-by; I was recently rx'd a serotonin making drug called amyltriptaline- poof; brain favors it truly. Utopia might be some Mu receptors and Celebrex; then no unnecessary toil on my brain nor being nor spirit. Ah, but such is lif

shaky hands
Hi, I have a 12 yr old son...just hope you get better and that u have some people in your life who love u as much as I love my son. If u don't, keep looking, you will find people who care. Good luck, and if the Zoloft feels bad for you, tell your dr. I'll be hoping you are ok. ;-))
Jaipria  |  June 22, 2014
Im glad Zoloft has helped with your depression however it didnt help with mine. I would talk with your doctor about the shaky hands. I stopped taking Zoloft awhile ago and I still have shaky hands from it.

I was diagnosed with BPD and PTSD 22 years ago after a TBI. I've been on Effexor and Aderal since. I can't live without Effexor, it stabilizes my disregulated emotions but does nothing to stop the flashbacks. The only thing that I've found that will do that is Opium, which I don't want to go there, or some strains of canibis, which I do. I'm sill trying to find a pharma solution. My new research stream is that maybe adding Aricept might help. Anybody have any experience with that?

I was on high dose effexor and also "lost" several years. I simply STOPPED taking this drug, and with the help/love/understanding of my wonderful lady, I have (so far) been able to function without it. For the first time in a long while, I am aware of what I am doing. It has been five LONG months, but..... I CAN DO IT!!
Russ  |  August 20, 2014
I can totally empathise with you I feel exactly the same - I am suffering from Anxiety & Depression have been taking venlafaxine and flupentixol for years and although I am much worse without the meds I still manage to embarrass myself on a regular basis to the point my eldest son is ashamed of me and doesn't care about me anymore. I worry constantly that the rest of my family will soon decide I am not good enough for them also and they will start to look down at me and decide to disown me, too
Diane  |  July 26, 2014
I understand what you are saying and how you feel. I think my son cares as well as a few other people but they are just tired of hearing it. I know I am and I'll bet you are too. I don't have any magic words. I wish I did.
