Why Melatonin Isn't The Right Choice
6684views
Do not give people medical advice! Look up the effects of diphenhydramine and other sympathomymetics often found in cold preparations and OTC sleep aids on acetylcholine. You should not practice outside your scope of practice as a nurse. Present evidence based practice and let people decide for themselves.
Nurse 1987  |  February 7, 2015
Please don't try to sound like an authority when your experience is thin. You probably did not study melatonin supplementation in nursing school. Study neuro-transmitters before you make blanket statements that OTC products are safer. Try suggesting people speak to their Naturopathic Physician and have a sleep evaluation prior to taking, if you want to suggest safely. "Reports" is anecdotal and out of context. If someone is depressed is very different than someone who just needs more sleep.

Zzzquill withdrawl
I've been using zzzquil every night for about a year too and this is my second night being off it for the first time and I'm having horrible restless legs. I didn't think I could withdrawal off it so that's y I ended up on this page to find out if I could. After reading these posts I'm convinced that I really am having withdrawls from it.
