Paranoia caused by Warfarin
The exact same thing has happened to an elderly relative of mine, she had all her marbles until they started poisoning her with this nasty medicine a few months ago. and she still had mini strokes, even with the warfarin, so the doc has said she can come off it. Im hoping her paranoia will go away quickly. Hope yours does too :)

I started using soy milk to help with the hot flashes, it seemed to help, but then my upper lip started to turn dark-stopped using the soy, and it went away. Hot flashes still occur but not as often.

Xarelto and Eczema
Had been on Coumadin for several years for recurrent DVTs and had periods of rashes and itching. In April I had more leg clots while on Coumadin, so doctor switched me to Zarelto. Clots are gone, rashes are gone, but skin itches more, just about everywhere: scalp, back, face, arms. Leg itching I think is due to previous dvts causing varicose veins and pooling.

I have developed it around my eyes and behind my ears since starting Xarelto.

Me too but just in the foot of the DVT leg

Does coumadin cause body temp to drop or feel cool?
Warfarin does not thin the blood. Calling warfarin a blood thinner is a misnomer, even though many m.d.'s do it.
a1doc  |  October 5, 2014
look up side effects you will see it all Everyone is different but coumadin / warfin thins your blood so you will experience different temperatures I had bad sweating it turned out to be my cortisol level and pituitary gland as well acting up so get more tests done ..its your body INSIST!!!
breezies Mama  |  October 4, 2014
yes definitely. Since I have been on warfarin after my heart attack when I was 43, I am 45 now, I am cold all the time. My hands and feet and nose mostly are always like ice to the touch. But I also feel the temperatures more extremely now and wear sweaters and use blankets when others don't need to.
carrie  |  October 1, 2014
Since taking Coumadin I am hot all the time , no one can explain why ! Everyone I talk with say they are cold.
Mel  |  August 19, 2014
Damn thing didn't let me finish...sorry about typos also. I had the gene mutation which causes blood clots. But since taking coumadin I have stopped all other medication...I no longer need nurofen for migraines as I don't get migraines or tension headaches because the blood flows freely through my system. I also don't take pain medication because my body is flowing and I don't get back pain because I am not stuck at home in bed with migraines which means I can go out in the sunlight and not get

I am 31yo and still on Coumadin and I always wonder how I evet survived playing in the snow in shorts or minus 40 degrees playing in the snow in a jacket I wore outside when it was over 15 degrees. But it's the Coumadin...I can't go outside at night because I don't want to have another shower to get me warm again...I joke and say I have hyperthermia, I just get too cold. I've had cold hands and feet all my life but when I turned 26yo and went on warfarin for lupus anticoagulant promthrombin gen

I was really cold when I first started taking it but that has gone away been taking for about a month and a half.
July 16, 2014
Yes, the thinned blood will feel cold and hot temperature changes.
J. Moore  |  July 5, 2014
it causes you not to be able to get warm sometimes
Kai  |  June 12, 2014
Yep... it thins the blood!... get a new doctor!
bailmail  |  April 10, 2014
Yes! I have been taking coumadin for almost 16 years now. I have noticed how much colder I am that other people who are not taking the medication while in the same conditions. It is a frustrating side effect of the medication in my opinion.

Judith, I am 69 and only got this irregular heartbeat after a prolonged chest infection and collaped lung last October which was not diagnosed early enough. Since then I have had a phlegmy cough after I have eaten, mostly in the evening, and shortness of breath and chest infections for several months. I find it difficult to get to sleep and don't go to bed until about 1 a.m. Taking about 10mg of Warfarin every evening, but having trouble getting my INR to 2.5 that they want it to be. Have be

Coumadin (warfarin) and the gout patient
I've been on Warfarin for arrythimia and Allopurinol for gout for several years with no problem. Originally, my doc also had me on oc "flushing niacin" which would open my veins & arteries. Turns out the niacin caused severe gout flareups, so I quit that. My standing therapy for gout attacks is concentrated cherry juice. For me it works. Drink 1 qt. at first hint of attack and continue drinking lots of it until attack goes away. If digestive problems occur, I cut back on the amount of juice. I

I take warfarin and Allopurinol for gout. On my last flareup I used Celebrex and the pain dissipated in 48 hrs. FYI Allopurinol and Indomethacin are severely contra indicated for with Warfarin, whereas
Celebrex has a lesser level of contra indication. See Webmd.

I guess you never had gout pain like this. My quality of life has drop off the map. Even as I want to exercise I can't put any pressure on my foot. Before taken this crap I could walk blocks. Now just to move around the house I take 3 or more of Tylenol.
julian Liss  |  April 27, 2014
So far for me the gout pain has affected my quality of life to the point where I just want it to stop. One way or another. I went from walking to sitting all day cause of the pain.
Julian Liss  |  April 27, 2014
You'd rather have a stroke than the occasional pain of gout? The gout can be handled pretty easily ~ not so much the stroke!
