I took 50mg thought I was going to die. It made me so depressed.I hope the depression will go away soon.It has been 2 days now.If it don't go away I am going to the hospital.

what brand were you using? did you ever look up literature to see if they conducted an assay on your particular brand? 5HTP is a naturally occuring chemical in your body and generally those who are depressed have a deficency. I think you are correct about it being synthetic but it sounds like they were selling something other than advertised. Hello I just wanted to let you Kno I was in the same boat and I can tell you now Mirtazapine will make it worse, because my bipolar is mostly depression with manic phases I was put on Mirtazapine up to 45 then told them I feel a lot worse this was a month after I had them put up so it wasn't like the first 2 weeks of feeling worse, anyway my psych lowere it to 30 and now take quetiapine 75 mg as well its an anti psychotic and its helped me a lot I think u should suggest to ur Dr that the meds

Please look up Mirtazapine online, I had a doctor prescribe this med with out my knowledge. I ended up with swelling of my toes & ankles, passing out , and manic depression. I ended up baker acted from this med, please tell your Doctor you would like to try something else or seek another Doctor. Good luck I will be praying for you.

I heard that it could cause aggression and road rage type symptoms. I have not experienced this though, and I've been taking it for about 4 weeks. I've actually had more restful sleep since starting it and seem a little more relaxed.
