5 HTP ( 30 days personal experience)
Went of SSRI's and started 5 HTP gradually using 50mg/day. The first week was difficult as it made me very irritable, zonked out with a feeling of higher anxiety. Second week I increased it to 100mg/ day and felt slightly better as conditions persisted but with less intensity. I then started drinking Chamomile Tea, which brought down my level of anxiety in the night and made me more relaxed. Still in the second week, I decided to do more of some cardiovascular exercising than the usual 30 mins walking; and it helped a lot to be frank. It really brought down the anxiety levels further. I'm now in the 4th week and its been good but not great. Side affects are there with intense dreams at time but you kind of get used to it over time. No much more to add other than not to use alcohol to much, it zaps your serotonin. Makes you more grouchy! Overall I recommend it but you must be disciplined with proper dieting, cardio-exercise and keep alcohol at bay of you can.
